Shahrukh Nasim

My name is Shahrukh Nasim and I am from Springfield, Virginia. I have spent the majority of my life in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In terms of undergrad, I graduated from George Mason University in Management Information Systems in the Fall of 2018. In terms of my work experience, I have worked primarily in the public and non-profit sector in various Energy/Environmental projects. At this point in time, I am serving as a Senior Consultant for the Department of Energy in the Office of Environmental Management.

After traveling all over South Asia and the Middle East while attending a British International School, I got to work on various development projects with the United Nations and World Bank. It showed me the lack of infrastructure and development needed in developing countries, and it inspired me to work towards the energy crisis, clean water/sanitation, and air quality issues. I joined the EMAP program because I hope to leave this world better than how I entered it, as well as evolve into a better citizen of society. This program is phenomenal because it connects the bridge from science to policy in a prominent way.

I am humbled and honored to be part of the EMAP program! For all prospective students and those who have questions, please feel free to email me at snk54@georgetown.edu
