Alexis Lashbaugh

Hi all–My name is Alexis Lashbaugh and I’m from Cumberland, Maryland. I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2021 where I majored in Public Policy and minored in Sustainability Studies and International Development/Conflict Management. Throughout my childhood and undergraduate career, I became aware of various environmental hazards and their potential to worsen significantly over time (e.g., climate change). I felt both obligated to take action and empowered to make a difference. Thus, I have dedicated most of my studies to this field and am excited to join the 2024 cohort of Environmental Metrology and Policy students!

I look forward to learning more about emerging environmental threats and the associated health risks to both the environment and humans alike, and I hope to gain the additional interdisciplinary skills necessary to work with policymakers to address these prevalent issues.
