Emily Li

Hi! I am Emily Li and I am part of EMAP’s Class of 2023. During my time at Macaulay Honors at Hunter College, I studied environmental health, urban ecology, and wildlife in the city of New York. Double majoring in environmental science and Chinese, I was able to combine all my interests and take advantage of all of the opportunities that not only New York City offers, but also Nanjing, Beijing, and Shanghai during my capstone year abroad.

During my undergraduate career, I was also able to take part in a marine mammals and sea turtles stranding program, assist with the rehabilitation of avian species, design informational presentations for the public regarding Shanghai’s invasive species, native species, and pollinators, design interactive ArcGIS maps of different sections of the Bronx River, and analyze soil lead pollution in urban gardens.

As of the beginning of my graduate career, I have been interning for the EPA. Moving forward in the program, I am excited to learn about environmental policy and to gain the skills necessary to solve the evolving urban challenges that cities face.

Feel free to email me at el893@georgetown.edu
