Zahra Khan

Hi! My name is Zahra and I’m from Ellicott City, Maryland. I graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 2021 where I majored in Political Science and minored in French.

During my undergraduate career, I co-founded a non-profit organization called Green Deshis. Our mission was to generate awareness among all Bengalis of their ecological footprint on the earth. We were recognized by the United States Climate Action Network and worked alongside other organizations on climate action projects. As Green Deshis expanded, I was disheartened to learn about climate injustice. The desire to help marginalized communities motivated me to apply to the EMAP program. The unique intellectual and technical skills I will acquire through EMAP at Georgetown University will empower me to create a more just and sustainable earth. I am excited to join the EMAP class of 2023 and begin a career of tangible impact!
